Loughton Parish Council is a long established civil council which represents all the residents of its parish and provides local services. It is the lowest tier of local government and closest to the community it serves.
The parish covers the grid squares of Loughton, Great Holm, West Rooksley, Knowlhill, Elfield Park & the Milton Keynes Bowl.

The Localism Act 2011 seeks to decentralise power and pass delivery of services to local community groups. Loughton Parish Council may be asked to deliver more services in future and take over services and local assets from Milton Keynes Council.
